I ran an Accuspark distributor all last summer and it ran well. I used it as a replacement for my stock distributor that had a broken mechanical advance. It was pretty much plug and play, but my tach became noisy. I believe that the cable length needs to be a bit shorter (say 1-2mm) as it seems like it is inserting into the tach a bit too much. I will be trying to mod one of my cables to see if that cures the noisy tach (it had been silent with the stock distributor).

I also have my rebuilt original distributor back with a new set of points and the advance conversion fitted. I will be testing both setups this spring to compare.

My TR6, like all others, was originally fitted with a vacuum retard system. I have the Moss converter which does not fit my distributor, so I wonder if the prior owner had used a different one…. anyway, has anyone had any experience with the Accuspark electronic distributor? I really want to use a vacuum advance….
